About Us
Church of the Ascension aims to show Christ’s love to all people by extending a warm and open welcome to all and by working in partnership with our local community for the benefit of all people by serving Christ in the wider world.
Our way of life is rooted in prayer and worship, set in the context of regular Holy Communion and daily prayer.
As members of the Church of England, we aim to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom, to teach, baptise and nurture new believers, respond to human need in loving service and work in the wider world for justice and peace
Our Vision
Lively Worship Experience
Our goal is to create a full and active church community, enriched with lively music that enhances our worship and brings energy to our services.
Maintaining and Welcoming Church Environment
We are dedicated to keeping our church building in good repair, ensuring it has a welcoming atmosphere. This is crucial in encouraging participation from the entire community, making everyone feel at home.
Youth and Community Outreach
Implementing a comprehensive outreach program for children and young people is a priority. We aim to welcome individuals of all ages and encourage their active participation in church activities.
Community Visibility and Involvement
Increasing our visibility in the community is a key objective. We plan to show our commitment to the community by collaborating with local groups. This will help in enhancing the quality of life for everyone in the parish.
Faith Growth in Kenton
Ultimately, our vision is to foster spiritual growth and see people in Kenton deepen their faith. We believe that through these initiatives, we can nurture a stronger, more vibrant faith community.
