‘Jesus said to them… “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly”’ (John 10: 10b)

As a follower of Jesus Christ, do I have the kind of life God is offering me, and do I have it abundantly? The Gospels tell us that this abundant life has little to do with how much we earn, or what position we might have in society.

St Paul’s letter to the Galatians tells us that a life in God is marked by ‘love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control’ (Galatians 5: 22-23), may we all have life, and have it abundantly.

From the Green Christian Prayer Guide this Sunday

Empower us to be faithful to your Son, Until that day, When the Kingdom of Your Son, Now inaugurated, Is consummated. Until that day, when swords of ecological violence are turned into ploughshares. Until that day, when unrestrained capitalism and empires of exploitation are no more. To him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, Be all praise, honour and glory.

Prayer for Ukraine

God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at risk and in fear, that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace. Amen
